I am the Founder and CEO of Contains Digital, a technology company building a new model for funding, ownership and opportunity — starting with Contains Entertainment, designed to change the creative industries.
After more than 20 years in education, including qualifying as a headteacher, I moved into technology with a belief that has followed me from the classroom: knowledge creates opportunity, and opportunity should not be reserved for the few.
In 2021, I entered the tech space through a community-led project on the XRP Ledger. Within days, it reached an all-time high of approximately $200 million and grew to more than 25,000 holders, showing me first-hand what can happen when technology removes traditional barriers and brings people together around a shared idea.
But technology alone isn't enough.
As an educator, I have spent decades helping young people develop the knowledge and confidence to make their own choices. As a mother of three daughters, I now look at the industries they and millions of other young people may enter and ask a bigger question:
Are we building systems that value the person as much as the product?
The creative industries have spent decades protecting the work. It's time we did more to protect the people behind it. That thinking sits at the heart of Contains Digital.
I want to bring education, ownership, transparency, community and compassion into the infrastructure itself — giving the next generation greater knowledge and agency before they are asked to make decisions that could shape their careers.
I don't believe technology should simply disrupt existing industries - I believe it should help us build better ones.
